Understanding the issue to be about more than just me and my story, knowing someone is trying to do something!
Being involved in the public and patient group is an honour for me. I feel I can help make a difference to pre-term birth as I'm actively involved in making decisions. I know the Doctors who I work with appreciate the input so much and I've learnt so much within this group.
The patient and public involvement group shows us a human side to the preterm labour world, it allows us to feel that our experiences matter and that ultimately the team value our opinions and want to provide the service their patients really need. It gives us a sense of belonging amongst other families who have been affected by preterm labour, and allows us to see the incredible hard work that the doctors do.
